The Social Sustainability Forum is a platform and arena that promotes discussions on welfare and social sustainability, focusing on strategic issues that promote good and equitable health. The forum aims to ensure that health equity becomes an integrated part of decision-making across sectors and societal domains that influence public health.
The forum organises and participates in a variety of activities, including conferences, seminars, and cross-sectoral dialogues. These events provide opportunities for knowledge exchange and experience sharing among representatives from the public sector, civil society, and the business community at all levels.
Through its initiatives, the forum strives to drive a transformation:
- From widening inequalities between different groups to achieving gender equality, health equity, and social trust.
- From short-term interventions to long-term, sustainable initiatives.
- From working in isolated silos to fostering dialogue, co-creation, and partnerships to develop shared solutions and address societal challenges.
The Social Sustainability Forum is managed jointly by the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions and the Public Health Agency of Sweden.
