Morning Activities
Are you an early bird looking to make the most of the Nordic Public Health Conference? We’ve put together a range of morning activities for you to enjoy for free. In addition, yoga classes are available at your own expence at Hotel Post’s own facilities in the “Skönhetsfabriken” studio.
If early mornings aren’t your thing but you’d still like to explore a bit of Gothenburg, we are also offering a guided historical walking tour during lunch on 14 May.
If you are registered for the conference, you will receive an email with a link allowing you to add activity bookings to your registration. Sign up by 12 May – spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis!
Try Circus Skills
WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY
Ever wanted to juggle, get upside down in a handstand, or try wire- walking? Now’s your chance to explore the playful world of circus arts in a fun and inspiring environment. Challenge your balance, coordination – and maybe even your laughter muscles!

Morning run – Choose Your Pace!
WEDNESDAY
Start your day with an energising run through the streets and green spaces of Gothenburg! Our run leaders – members of the local running club Solvikingarna – will guide you on a refreshing morning run that offers both exercise and a new way to experience the city. At 07:00, we’ll begin with a short briefing and warm-up. Then we’ll divide into two groups:
- Gentler pace: approx. 4 km in 30 minutes
- Faster pace: approx. 8 km in 45 minutes
After the run, we’ll finish with a few minutes of stretching. We aim to be done by 08:00.

Morning Qi Gong – Gentle Movement and Energy Flow
WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY
The practice, called “Lift Qi Up”, is a gentle yet powerful form of movement that many people find increases their energy and stamina in daily life. It may also support faster recovery – both mentally and physically – and help you relax more easily and feel a greater sense of calm. The movements are simple and suitable for everyone, regardless of previous experience. We’ll be practising standing on the grass – please note that no mats will be provided. This gentle morning session is suitable for everyone and aims to awaken the body, calm the mind and promote well-being ahead of the day’s programme.
Time: 07.30-08.15.
Location: Indoors or outdoors depending on weather (info in the conference app 30 min ahead)

Try Crochet – A Creative Moment of Calm
WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY
Curious about crochet? This hands-on session is a gentle and creative introduction to a timeless craft. Crochet is a relaxing activity that invites you to slow down, focus and create with your hands.
You’ll learn the basics using soft yarn and simple stitches to make small granny squares – the building blocks of everything from bags and clothes to cushions and bedspreads.
No prior experience is needed – just curiosity and a willingness to try something new. Come and give it a go – you might discover a new favourite hobby!

Run & Learn – Sightseeing Run Through Gothenburg
WEDNESDAY
3–4 km, 45 minutes
Experience Gothenburg in a new and energising way – through a guided sightseeing run! We jog at a gentle pace between key historical locations, where we pause to hear stories and insights from our guide. It’s the perfect blend of movement and history.
You’ll pass sites like Gustav Adolfs Torg, Kronhuset, the East India House, the Cathedral, the Market Hall and the Garden Society park (Trädgårdsföreningen). The pace is adapted to the group and includes frequent stops.

Run & Learn – Sightseeing Run Through Gothenburg
THURSDAY
5–6 km, 60 minutes
Want to see more of Gothenburg while getting your morning workout? Join us for a longer sightseeing run that takes you through some of the city’s most iconic historical and cultural locations. We run at a steady pace, stopping at selected spots where your guide shares fascinating stories from Gothenburg’s past.
We’ll pass places such as Gustav Adolfs Torg, Kronhuset, the East India House, Stenpiren, Järntorget, Haga, Vasagatan, Avenyn and the Garden Society park. The pace is adjusted to the group and includes regular storytelling stops.
Time: 07.00-08.00

Guided City Walk – Stories from 400 Years of Gothenburg
WEDNESDAY LUNCH
2–3 km, 60 minutes
Stroll through 400 years of Gothenburg’s history in this guided city walk. Along the route, your guide will share curious, quirky and insightful stories – from lost statues and royal mishaps to legendary local dogs.
We pass historical sites like Gustav Adolfs Torg, Kronhuset and the East India House, moving at a comfortable pace with plenty of stops for storytelling.
Time: 12.15-13.15

Morning Yoga
WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY
Please Note: This session is a personal add-on and comes at an extra cost. You’re warmly welcome to treat yourself to a calming and energising start to the day at Skönhetsfabriken, located at the Hotel Post. Expect a gentle and soothing flow designed to wake up your body, focus on your breath, stretch and strengthen you for the day ahead. The class is tailored to each participant’s needs.
There are a limited number of spots available (14) each morning, so make sure to book early – it’s first come, first served!
